VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Job Summary POSITION SUMMARY Assembly Operator Team Leaders are the front line leadership for Assembly Operators, and make sure that value stream team members are meeting hourly production targets, while identifying and solving any and all issues that prevent targets from being met. Thesis a lead by example role where the successful team leader will be required to lead all production activities in a hands on fashion while modeling Pentair's Win Right Values and commitment to continuous improvement. POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: * Updates and tracks work center and value stream MDI metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Cash and Culture) * Coaches team members on standard work, MDI Metrics and overall work flow * Utilizes SAP reports for delivery, cost (efficiency), and parts lookup * Supports production and material flow to ensure processes run smoothly and uninterrupted * Contributes to business development and planning for defined cells and/or value streams LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Human Resources Functions * Supports the daily functions and core HR Operations for employee relations, labor relations and risk, hiring and staffing, pay, scheduling, timekeeping, talent management, development and team engagement. * Stay current on all available resources, including company communication, to deliver an exceptional employee experience. * Responds to employee questions and concerns promptly and courteously, directing them to appropriate resources and leaders for escalation, if needed. * Follows company procedures related to HR processes and handling confidential information. * Fosters an inclusive, diverse, safe and empowered work culture. Safety Functions * Communicates safety hazards and improvement ideas to team * Participates in safety awareness programs * Completes hazard identification cards (Hazard, Near Miss, Property Damage, First Aid, Injury) * Updates tier safety cross daily * Ensures team completes two safety observations quarterly Quality Functions * Understands and trains in accordance with the Quality Policy and ISO 9001 requirements * Follows the quality escalation procedure in-case of on-the-line issues which need to be escalated to a cross functional team or manager * Applies the QIS (Quality Information System) and specific modules to daily work * Reads and understands prints supplied to the assembly cell for operators to use * Utilizes and coaches team members on the red-tag process and how to identify non-conforming material Delivery Functions * Attends weekly 5 day schedule meetings, applies and communicates outcomes to work center * Aligns daily resources to meet the 5 day schedule. * Highlights DXD material issues and opportunities to the Material Flow Coordinator (MFC). * Escalates unresolved issues and opportunities affecting production to plant staff during GEMBA walk. * Recommend overtime to meet schedule attainment... Cost Functions * Makes tactical decisions on where staffing is placed based on business priorities for that day * Follows up throughout the day on quantity of staff needed for the workload to ensure each line is balanced based on demand * Reviews Cost/Efficiency metric on MDI at Tier I meeting in the morning * Trains and coaches operators on what the Cost metric is and how to improve it at a workstation level Cash Functions * Applies lean principles to minimize scrap * Processes scrap correctly Job Requirements & Skills KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: Education * High School Diploma or equivalent * Associates degree or coursework towards Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience * 5+ Years experience in a manufacturing environment * ERP System (SAP, MFG, PRO, M2K) experience * Prior leadership and training experience desired. * Demonstrated problem solving and use of iniative to meet a defined target or project goal * Experience of lean manufacturing methodologies and/or continuous improvement Abilities * Supports the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values by exhibiting the following behaviors: * Accountability for Performance * Committed to high standards of performance and demonstrate personal ownership for getting the job done. * Absolute Integrity * Committed to honest and ethical business practices in our dealings with customers, business partners, investors, communities, and each other. * Customer First * Viewing of situations through the eyes of the customer.
