Specific Responsibilities of this Position:
Responsible for specifying requirements, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development and testing of components for an active safety system where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment.
Exercises technical direction over engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives.
Consults with supervisor as required.
Camera components technical lead for the project which includes understanding current sensor technology, limits of capability and supplier advance technology work in the area
Works closely with other component engineers, performance & test engineers and suppliers to understand and develop requirements in support of the project
Performs component level vehicle and bench testing during the development process.
Supports vehicle Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) activity
Performs complex design analysis
Develops engineering designs (including subsystems)
Plans and implements test and/or development programs
Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and customers
Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products
Travels as required
DRE on front camera module component
Active safety feature in vehicles
Supports features like lane keep assist
Working on imminent collision features
Mix between managing projects and technical understanding in the details of the part
Making sure parts make it to proper plants for builds
Work through development, testing, or build issues if parts are in the development part in existence
Electrical control work
Experience working with embedded controls in real time operating environments (engine controls, or engine safety features)
Electrical software understanding of how this operates real time in a vehicle
Software programming, general software work
Validation work in electrical systems
Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science
Anywhere up to 3 years of experience (Internship or schooling experience is applicable, industry experience is preferred)
