Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt & Full Time

Salary Range:
16.50/Hour starting rate--16.50 pre-certification /$18.00//hour certification

$1.00/Hour for 2nd/3rd Shift Differential Pay

$1.00/Hour weekend Premium Pay

Description: At Bama, the Shipping and Receiving Lead Coordinator is expected to understand, engage and lead the Shipping and Receiving activities in their area of responsibility. Directly responsible for ensuring a high quality, safe product; while minimizing damage, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices. The Shipping / Receiving Lead Coordinator will be responsible for working in multiple positions, scheduling the day to day activities, and working with other departments on warehouse related issues.

Essential Job Functions/

Job Responsibilities:

Inventory Control:

  • Use warehouse management system/tools to analyze inventory levels and provide direction to vendor partner to resolve issues

  • Key metric tracking

  • Coordinate product movements to and from outside storage facilities as needed

  • Daily tracking of distressed products located at outside storage

  • Lead year-end financial audit at outside cold storage facilities

Leadership

  • Work closely with Bama and vendor's management teams

  • Coach/Mentor Cold storage shipping teams on Bama warehouse management systems

  • Identify improvement opportunities

  • Provide inventory movement direction to Bama facilities as needed

  • Develop strong relationships with vendor staff and logistic management team

  • Lead year-end financial audit at outside cold storage facilities

Required Skills:

  • High Level Knowledge of the following warehouse job functions: Shipping and Receiving processes, along with the systems and tools used to perform functions

  • Possess the ability to Schedule appointments and maintain the automated appointment system in the AS400, coordinate inter-company transfers to the appropriate facility by planning ahead and looking at the production schedule for the week.

  • Understand and maintain the FIFO system for raw materials and finished goods

  • Possess the ability to perform inventory cycle counts and identify solutions for continuous improvement. Also have the ability to research missing or misplaced pallets.

  • Able to coordinate product movements in a system view way.

  • Possess good customer service skills

  • Possess the ability and aptitude to identify, correct and improve potential safety items; both human and food.

  • Actively participate in and help lead Bama safety initiatives with the responsibility for self and others.

  • Perform and lead product quality checks and make necessary corrections.

  • Understand and utilizes measurement systems like SPC, charts and graphs along with Six Sigma training and tools.

  • Submit to all assessments and testing, including math/reading test and EQ assessment testing. Also display aptitude for positions based on aptitude testing and assessments.

Required Experience:

  • Must have High School diploma or GED

  • Understand warehouse guidelines for food safety and sanitation.

  • Computer skills in AS400, Microsoft Word, Power point, Excel and Email.

  • Experience with sit down and stand up forklift operation.

  • Experience with Inventory control process.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.

  • Must have proven safety record in past work history.

Physical Requirements:

  • Speaking/continuous. Employee is required to clearly communicate verbally with the ability to use a two-way radio.

  • Bending/continuous. Employee has many job activities that require bending or stooping.

  • Breathing (non-assisted)/continuous. Employee activities require the ability to move quickly in and around equipment. Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight, confined areas.

  • Holding/continuous. Employees must be able to grasp and hold items as necessary to complete necessary job functions.

  • Inserting/continuous. Employee will need to be able to insert tools, screws, nails, parts, etc.

  • Lifting/continuous. Employee is required to lift tools, parts, building supplies, paperwork, records, etc. Weight range would be up to 55 lbs.

  • Pulling/occasional. Employee is required to pull carts, totes, boxes, etc.

  • Pushing/occasional. Employee is required to push carts, totes, boxes, etc.

  • Walking/continuous. Employee is required to move around the equipment to meet facility standards. Rapid pace is common for these needs to be met successfully.

  • Driving/continuous. Employee will be required to operate all types of forklifts or stand-up pallet jack.

  • Employee will be required to work in a hot or cold environment.

Keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets Company standards for safety, security, and productivity. Responsible for the completeness and correctness of all orders filled. Checks outbound shipments for accuracy and readiness for customer delivery. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: SHIPPING & RECEIVING 1. Ensures the accuracy of all shipping/receiving documents and gathers and maintains all data and records relative to shipping/receiving activities. 2. Assures that shipping/receiving counts match picking/purchase order documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies. 3. Collects all documentation for outbound freight and ensures all documents including receiving paperwork are filed appropriately. 4. Pick orders to be shipped as needed, ensure proper labels and paperwork have been applied before shipping and examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. 5. Schedules inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager. 6. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. 7. Identifies backorders and places merchandise in designated holding area for expedited handling. 8. Receives UPS orders and subdivides into separate product category for verification and stocking activities. 9. Verifies (recounts) orders received by others to ensure accuracy of incoming merchandise. ORDER PICKING/PULLING 10. Utilize material warehouse management system to ascertain catalog number, size, color, and quantity of merchandise to be picked from bins, shelves, or locations. 11. Picks customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped. 12. Utilize material handling equipment, safely and efficiently, to transport product to shipping locations or delivery platforms and ensuring orders are staged in order of delivery. 13. Organize items of pallet by hospital unit as necessary and repacks and weigh orders which require special handling. 14. Maintains warehouse equipment by noting and reporting any damage or malfunction and connecting battery to recharging station at the end of shift. 15. Assists in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Place incoming merchandise into inventory. 2. Conduct physical inventories as required 3. Operate forklifts to unload trucks. 4. Performs additional duties as directed. Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. General knowledge of a variety of basic topics, such as math, reading, basic accounting, typing, etc. Equal to a high school diploma. 2. Prior experience working in a distribution center a plus. Warehouse Certification and Operations Certification also a plus. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: 1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. 2. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment. 3.
