Quality Reliability Durability Engineer

PROJECT:

o This candidate will be assigned to 1 or 2 programs (TBA which projects)

o Warranty for power and signal distribution systems (wiring, connectors)

TYPICAL DAY:

o 20% of the day would be in meetings

o 40% of the day is running data and evaluating data

o 20% of the day would be spent on the phone or meeting with people to resolve issues

o 10% of the day is on the floor in an assembly plant

RESPONSIBILITIES/DELIVERABLES:

o Evaluating warranty data. Ex: When a customer brings a vehicle into a dealership and they have a problem, this problem is evaluated within this department and this candidate would assign the individual who is tasked with figuring out the problems and making sure they do not re-occur

o Most of this work is standardized work. Mostly consisting of maintaining and running most recent data (warranty data)

o Updating a template in PowerPoint in Excel that consists of data to present in weekly that this candidate would run.

o This candidate is responsible for leading a team. The members of this team are counterparts, not direct reports.

o Candidate's are responsible for calling meetings, working with the team to decide who owns the meeting, and driving for resolution

o Quality candidate would be responsible for looking at a quality problem and determining root cause and how to resolve

MUST HAVE:

o Candidate's must be proficient within Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email

o Experience in wiring ex: harness wiring

o 2-3 years of experience

o Associate's Degree in Technology (engineering), an electrical engineering degree would be highly preferred

o Technical background

o People skills

o Work well with others

Maintain responsibility for product and process audits, traceability audits, root cause analysis, and compliance reporting. Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Basic Qualifications: * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint * Knowledge of software process or product compliance and release management for embedded software in ground, air, or sea systems and platforms * Ability to obtain a security clearance * BA or BS degree in CS or Engineering Additional Qualifications: * Experience with embedded software in ground, air, or sea systems and platforms * Experience with analyzing software product and process compliance and quality assurance plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system * Experience with the implementation and administration of product and process compliance and software quality assurance metrics, including defect profiles and performance to entry and exit criteria * Experience with Linux or QNX and other embedded OSes, including command line * Experience with software industry best practices, including Capability Maturity Model, such as integration to level 3 standards or higher * Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills * Possession of excellent leadership, analytical, and problem solving skills * Secret clearance preferred * MA or MS degree in a Software Engineering or CS field * Completion of software process and product compliance and release management-related coursework preferred Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
