Summary ThisJanitor/Administrative Assistant position provides a variety of laundryattending, cleaning services, administrative tasks and other related dutiesrequired to keep facilities, food service areas, office facilities, or similarareas in a clean and orderly condition. All duties are to be performed inaccordance with NMS' mission, vision, and values as well as housekeepingpolicies, practices, and procedures. Thisposition is based in Fairbanks, AK. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Cleans,vacuums, mops, or restocks hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation orbreak areas, kitchen areas or equipment, laundry rooms, clinics, living areas,work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, or othersimilar areas * Sweeps,mops, scrubs, strips, extract, waxes, buff, vacuums, etc. all types of floors * Dustsboth low and high areas. Wipes down or cleans various surfaces * Usesappropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks * Removesand properly disposes of discarded materials * Maycompact trash * Removesand transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas * Loads and unloads vehicles. * Verifiesmaterials/load against shipping/order papers. * Drivesmulti-passenger van to various destinations or on a scheduled route. * Verifyidentification, labeling, loading, unloading, and transportation of mail, smallpackages, hazardous materials and/or dangerous goods. * Preparesreceipts for load or materials to be picked up or dropped off. * Maintainstelephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive deliveryinstructions * Maintainsvehicle and in sanitary condition and good working order. * Inspectsvehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, andwater. * Performsemergency roadside repairs such as changing tires. * Maychange light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance * Maykeep building entryways free of snow and debris * Mayoperate a vehicle to work at various locations. * Notifysupervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met. * Thisposition has no supervisory responsibilities. * Otherduties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may beassigned. Minimum Requirements * High School Diploma or GED equivalent * At least one (1) year experience that evidences a workingknowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes. * At least one (1) year experience in commercial janitorial work. * A valid driver's license and anacceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible underNMS' vehicle insurance policy. * Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements which mayinclude but are not limited to: hair follicle drug test, physical and fit forduty assessment and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible forpaying for travel to the nearest testing facility. * Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellowemployees, customers and clients. * Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision. * Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and writeEnglish. * Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations setforth by the company and client. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather:Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed toarctic conditions. Noiselevel: Moderate to Loud Descriptionof environment: This is an office environment. Mustconstantly be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms,stoop, kneel and crouch. Physicalrequirements: Fit For Duty Test * Lift: Lift 48 lbs. from floor to knuckle x2 * Lift: Lift 48 lbs. from floor to waist x 2 * Lift: Lift 38 lbs. from floor to shoulders x 2 * Carry: Carry 38 lbs. with two hands for a minimumdistance of 30 feet x 2, self-paced. * Allow a 60 second restperiod between carry tests. * Push: push horizontally with a peak force of 50f-lbs. with two hands * Pull: pull horizontally with a peak force of 75f-lbs. with two hands. * Stoop & Twist: Perform alternate cross over toe touches x 5each side, self-paced but continuous. * Squat Test: Functionally squat x 5, self-paced butcontinuous. * Kneel: Kneel on one knee and stand. Return to kneel on opposite knee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequence x 5 foreach knee, self-pace but continuous. * Stairs: Climb up and down 12 steps x 15 for a totalof 180 steps using one hand to grasp a railing for safety: * Allow 30 second rest after climbingup and down each set of 50 steps, self-paced. * Stairs & Carry: Climb up and down 10 steps x 5 for a total of50 steps while carrying 38 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp arailing for safety, self-paced. * Allow a 60 second rest periodafter climbing up and down 25 steps while carrying. * Slanted Ladder: Climb a slanted ladder with 2 rungs x 2repetitions for a total of 4 rungs, self-paced but continuous. * All tests must be performedwithin a safe target heart rate as determined by the contract requirements. Summary * Installs, services and removes electronic monitoring (EM) equipment in clients' residences and other locations as necessary . Troubleshoots equipment problems and performs routine cleaning and equipment maintenance. Maintains sufficient inventory levels to service specific contracts. . Provides information to contracting agencies regarding work performed, problems and concerns, as requested. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Installs and removes EM equipment in contracting agency offices, client residences or other locations, such as workplaces and jails, in accordance with contractual guidelines. * Troubleshoots equipment problems in client residences, or other locations, such as workplaces, agency offices and jails, or via telephone to ensure proper operation. * Maintains adequate inventory of equipment and supplies in order to service contracts within a specific area. * Performs equipment inspections to identify damage or malfunction. * Cleans field equipment * Tests equipment in accordance with quality assurance standards. * Performs routine equipment maintenance. * Identifies areas of potential business growth and communicates to Manager, Install Services. * Provides regular reports to Manager, Install Services on installer activities within a specified area. * Trains new contracting agency officers on company equipment, policies and procedures as requested. * Visits local prisons and other correctional facilities regularly to collect unused equipment. * Builds relationships with contracting agency contacts to promote Company products and services. * Performs data entry via the internet to enroll new clients or update existing clients' information for all Company products and services. * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum Requirements * High School Diploma or GED required. * Six months experience in the military, or a security or law enforcement field preferred. Work experience in the Corrections Industry preferred. * Sales experience preferred. * Knowledge of electronic monitoring field equipment. * Ability to understand EM messages and daily summary reports. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Presentation skills. * Ability to organize and manage inventory. * Valid state driver's license. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
