United States of America - Alaska, Fort Wainwright Job Summary Aircraft Mechanic II (23022): Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. Minimum Requirements High School graduate or equivalent. Experience: 5 years required actual and recent depot/phase level aircraft maintenance/modification as well as unscheduled maintenance experience is required. Prior experience with U.S. Army various field level and limited sustainment level maintenance on US Army AH-64D/E Helicopters highly preferred. Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check. It is mined by conventional open-pit methods, with ore processed at a mill and heap leach facility. Fort Knox has one of the few cold weather heap leach facilities in the world. Fort Knox is not a camp mine Job Description Kinross is currently seeking Mobile Mechanics to repair and maintain it's heavy diesel trucks along with graders and dozers. Some of our fleet includes Caterpillar 785s, 789s,793's plus Caterpillar 994 loaders, 3600 and 5500 Hitachi shovels. * Kinross Fort Knox Gold is NOT a camp mine. The successful candidate will need to reside in or around Fairbanks Key Activities: Troubleshooting, diagnosing, modifying, fabricating and repairing mobile and stationary equipment electrical systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, drive trains and track equipment undercarriages by using specialized testing equipment and electrical systems knowledge. The 18 mW coal-fired cogeneration plant is located on Fort Wainwright, an Army base outside Fairbanks, Alaska. The Superintendent must operate the plant in compliance with all applicable Doyon Utilities, State of Alaska, and Federal environmental and safety regulations. The Superintendent develops and manages the annual O&M budget and assists with the development of the annual capital improvement plan. Supervise all aspects of the CHPP operations and maintenance and effectively provide direction to the CHPP Maintenance and Operations Supervisors, plant work leaders and plant personnel. 2. Operate within a regulated utility environment to include ADEC, EPA, DOT, DOL, OSHA and EEOC guidelines. 3. Provide a sound Quality Control program for all operation and maintenance activities. 4. Ensure compliance with the Doyon Utilities privatization contract requirements. 5. Establish safe working practices in accordance with corporate safety program and Ft. Wainwright safety directives. 6. Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational, production, and budgetary reports. 7. Attend regularly scheduled meetings with other Doyon Utilities representatives and the departments of the Army for the purpose of reporting the operational status of the CHPP. 8. Ensure reliable operational records are maintained and recorded for historical purposes and to document performance metrics for the plant. 9. Produce an annual budget and develop a capital improvement plan for the CHPP. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum of 10 years of managerial experience with progressive responsibility in power generation, coal fired preferred, at the supervisory and management level. 2. General knowledge of plant controls, tools, equipment and proper procedures to maintain the plant within the CHPP. 3. Ability to understand and execute written and oral instructions and relay those instructions to the work leaders and other subordinate employees. 4. Proficient with use of desktop computers and Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must also have experience with CMMS software (Maximo, preferred) and familiar with AutoCAD. 5. Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, shift foremen and plant personnel. 6. Must be able to analyze plant operations and offer suggestions to improve operational efficiency. 7. Effectively manage the personnel resources assigned to the CHPP. 8. Knowledge of asset management processes. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Works primarily indoors where employee is subject to exposure to abnormal heat hazards or ash and coal dust. The work environment is typically a noise hazard area requiring the use of hearing protection.
