Job Description The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for providing geotechnical & mining engineering technical support to the Mining department to ensure that the mine functions effectively and safely. To be familiar with and understand the principles of the environment policy and also to maintain and support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries. Job Responsibilities * Develop geotechnical design criteria to support safe and optimal mine operations. * Plan and manage the installation of the mine-wide geotechnical monitoring systems. * Assist with continuous improvements in drilling and blast designs while ensuring they comply with mining regulations and site standards as they relate to Geotechnical Wall Control blasting. * Coordinate with the Drill & Blast Engineer and Mine Operations to ensure maximum utilization of production drilling equipment as it relates to Geotechnical Wall Control blasting. * Advise planning & operations personnel on geotechnical issues relating to production drilling, blast and mine design. * Plan and budget geotechnical drilling programs and conduct numerical modeling work for mine design and optimization. * Coordinate with the geotechnical consultants to ensure design criteria are effectively implemented and optimized based on operational performance. * Provide technical support where electronic blasting is carried out. * Ensure that all reporting requirements and licensing conditions by regulatory bodies are met. * Develop, maintain, and update the Ground Control Management plan. * Ensure a sound geotechnical model covering mine geology, geological structures, rock mass quality and hydrogeology is built and updated through collection, analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data. * Effectively communicate geotechnical outcomes. * Provide comprehensive and timely contributions to the daily, weekly monthly and annual reports. * Improve the overall safety performance of the site including facilitating Job Safety Analysis and Incident Analysis. * Train and mentor engineers/geologists in all aspects of geotechnical engineering, including identification of geotechnical skills development programs & course for engineers/geologist to undertake and participate in. * Punctuality and regular attendance is required. * Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management. * Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies. * Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state. * Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them. * Work without significant risk of harm to self and others. * Perform other duties as required. This is a full-time Temporary position Field Service Technicians provide telecommunications installation and servicing of Video, Data and Voice product lines within customers residence and business properties in an efficient and professional manner. Essential Duties of Field Service Technician * Residential installation, disconnect, testing and repair of Video, Data and Voice Services * Communication with dispatch board regarding service orders and trouble tickets * Participate and support personnel in response to system outages * Support senior staff with install, test, and repair of custom service orders * Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, truck stock, and following the company's safe driving policies At an entry level, the field service technician must have comprehensive understanding of telecommunications installation, modifications, and test procedures. Must be able to determine system problems and outages; preform preventative maintenance/repair and testing of residential/business wiring, programming and hook up of consumer electronics equipment, security, high-speed data and/or telephony. Works under close supervision. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrated knowledge of home/business wringing, programming and hook up of consumer electronics equipment. * Ability to read and understand system design and city street maps. * Ability to maintain confidential company and customer information. * Knowledgeable and responsive to financial accountability for vehicles, inventory (i.e., test equipment), paperwork, and safety procedures to minimize claims. * Interpersonal skills: ability to develop positive rapport with customers; demonstrate fair and equitable treatment of fellow employees and customers. * Time management skills: ability to organize assignments, equipment, and routing to maximize productivity. * Communications skills: must be able to articulate technical information clearly and concisely in written and electronic follow-up reports and work orders; complete written route sheets. Verbally communicate technical information to customers, contractors, utility workers, fellow employees and general public in an effective manner appropriate with all levels of understanding. * Analytical skills: ability to interpret and accurately apply applicable codes, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, etc. Physical Requirements: * High degree of balance, coordination and strength needed routinely in climbing poles, towers, ladders, etc. and avoiding obstacles. * Daily walking, crawling, bending, stooping and kneeling on varied surfaces such as roofs and in trenches often hampered by weather elements. * Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling to maneuver equipment/supplies of up to 70-pound loads occasionally, less weight more regularly. * High degree of hand dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate hand tools and to connect, separate, and twist multiple smaller items on a daily basis. * Clarity of vision at every distance with good depth perception and ability to distinguish colors routinely for driving and performing assigned tasks. * Good hearing, capable of distinction between equipment signals and the human voice often amidst background noises, such as wind, rain and traffic. Working Conditions: Subject to adverse weather and driving conditions. Work involves heights up to 40 feet on poles and ladders. Tasks performed around high power electrical conductors and gas lines. Work areas can be cramped, dark, dusty, damp, wet, stuffy, sticky, smelly, hot and/or cold and nay encounter unrestrained animals/pets and customer interactions. Must be able and willing to work flexible hours including, but not limited to, overtime, on-call, and/or additional time on weekends, holidays, evenings, before or after normal shift hours. Work occasionally requires extended periods of travel for support of personnel in other departments and systems.
