The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. About the Rehab Unit 5W Rehab is a 10 bed inpatient Rehabilitation Facility within Providence. Patients come to Rehab in order to recover from different diagnoses (stroke, spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery, head injury, and /or multi-trauma). Required qualifications for this position include: * High School diploma or equivalent * Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAAHEP) or other program accredited by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program * Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) * Operating Room experience for candidates who have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology Program or have completed other accredited programs by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist or completion of a Surgical Technician Military Training program * Candidates with equivalent other or at least 6 months of on the job clinical training must have minimum 1 year operating room experience scrubbing on surgical procedures * Experience scrubbing independently in at least 3 surgical specialties; e.g. general surgery, orthopedics, urology, cardiac/vascular, ENT, ophalmology, neurosurgery, etc About Providence Alaska Medical Center Providence Health & Services Alaska is among nation's best employers for healthy lifestyles!
