Each FA is supported by a Branch Office Administrator who * Partners with the FA to build deep, trusted client relationships * Enables the FA to focus on providing tailored, solutions-based advice, and * Delivers exceptional client service. Client service Edward Jones FAs are known for building quality, one-to-one relationships with their clients - and they're able to maintain those relationships with the help of the BOA. When clients have questions, the FA will often depend on the BOA to provide a timely response. Client development An effective marketing communications program is only as strong as the person who implements it on a daily basis. At the FA's direction, the BOA updates prospect and client data records, executes direct mail programs, assists with planning seminars, and makes follow-up phone calls to set or confirm appointments. The BOA also helps the FA deepen existing client relationships by recognizing opportunities during day-to-day client interactions, proactively preparing a variety of reports for scheduled appointments, and scheduling systematic contact activities. Region and firm assistance To improve region performance and support our growing firm, we have established a number of regional support programs for all BOAs. While not required, experienced BOAs often volunteer for a program such as mentoring, BOA meeting planning or presentations. They help with an occasional branch visit, workshop or special project. Certain BOAs will also have the opportunity to play a larger role in their region if their FA holds one of the key leadership positions. This generally involves scheduling meetings, communicating with other branches and compiling reports. Many branches also host a FA trainee for several weeks. In this case, the BOA can be called upon to help the new FAs become familiar with processing systems and office record keeping. Office administration This position is ideal for a well-organized person who enjoys multi-tasking and working with both technology and people. Daily office administration duties include assisting the FA in creating and meeting business plans, overseeing appointment setting and schedules, and processing deposits and transactions. Essential Duties of the Position: * Installs, configures, and supports the company's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems, or a segment of a network system. * Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users, and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. * Responsible for direct customer communication and Tier I and Tier II escalation support. * May monitor and test site performance to ensure sites operate correctly and without interruption. * Supports in-network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. * Administer / perform network security measures. * Provides event tracking, notification, remediation, and escalation support to a higher level network administrator technician. * Notifies technical support groups, and assists with maintaining status of network systems. * Provide daily summary report of events and system documentation updates. Audit and updates network documentation. * Receives and process Tier 2 Technical escalations following from beginning to end. * Perform day-to-day administration and maintenance of the network systems; adding, changing and removing devices, and applying network device configurations. Additional Job Requirements: This is a mid- to intermediate level position for the network or server system administrator. Must have comprehensive understanding of telecommunications technologies and company culture; be able to provide assistance to more senior level technicians and mentor junior technicians. Performing more complex assignments as directed under moderate supervision, with some latitude for independent judgment, and becoming fully proficient within the discipline. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Excellent interpersonal, verbal / written communications, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to explain and document technical activities. * Excellent customer service skills. * Expert knowledge in LAN/WAN technologies, internet, server platforms, and management tools. * High level understanding of the functions of internet such as DNS, DHCP, routing, servers, clients, browsers, and email. * Proven knowledge of server software. * Ability to track, diagnose, and document multiple network events. * Ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of business, operating, and technical staff. * Ability to mentor, coach and lead junior technicians when assigned. Minimum qualifications of the Technician III, Network Administrator position: * Minimum three years of technical support experience in a relevant field. * Telecommunications experience highly valued. * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Associates' degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field required; * OR a combination of relevant education and/or work experience sufficient to perform the duties may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis. * Industry specific certifications are highly valued (i.e., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), HDI, Microsoft, ITIL, CompTIA, Juniper, etc.) Physical Requirements: Ability to perform sedentary work; physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; incidental lifting without assistance of up to 50 lbs (only 1 to 2 times per day); includes caring below shoulder level and walking with load using trained lifting techniques. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an open-spaced office environment with minimal privacy. Work schedule is 40 hour workweek and position requires flexibility in hours, weekend and holiday work, after hour on-call duties and occasional travel to client site. GCI and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. You will be requested to provide an emergency after hours contact numbers. Driving Requirements (if applicable): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
