Work is performed both indoors and outdoors which may involve adverse weather conditions and related hazards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Understand and continually practice DRFS's commitment to a zero incident safety and environmental culture * Perform work in a safe manner following rules, regulations and guidelines * Responsible for performing moderately complex camp maintenance and repair work in the following areas: o Carpentry, to include but not limited to: framing walls, framing and hanging windows and doors, repairs to furniture, trip, cabinetry and countertops, hanging and repairing drywall, and painting o Electrical, to include but not limited to: resetting circuit breakers and GFCI, replacing outlets and switches, replacing lamps and ballasts, and running heat trace o Plumbing, to include but not limited to: unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, repairing leaks in water, gas and sewer lines in walls, under floors, and in ceilings, and repairing exposed leaks in water and waste lines o HVAC, to include but not limited to: replacing filters, repairing leaks, relighting pilot lights, adjusting dampers/louvers/controls, and performing basic repairs of furnaces, air conditioners and ducting * Troubleshoot and repair common problems with generators, plumbing, water/waste systems, electrical, and HVAC * Inspect facilities, equipment, and systems to determine condition * Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities * Monitor generators and water/waste systems for proper function * Prepare and submit maintenance logs and daily reports, spill reports, incident reports, warranty claims, travel requests * Plan and schedule individual work * Perform Task Hazard Analysis for work * May assist with removing snow from doorways, walkways, containment areas, etc. * Assist with keeping a clean and organized work site by organizing tools and materials, removing waste and debris, sweeping and mopping, as needed * Maintain potable water tanks, waste water tanks, and lift stations * Load, unload, and move materials, as well as expedite items, up to 50 pounds on a routine basis * Maintain inventory of parts and materials * Research parts/materials/tools, as needed * Prepare and submit purchase requests, as needed * Guide vehicles and heavy equipment * Monitor work site and equipment * Use hand tools to perform work tasks * Assist Maintenance Technician's with tasks, as needed * Respond to work calls when on shift 24 hours a day, and to customer inquiries and complaints * Other duties as assigned DOYON LIMITED CORE COMPETENCIES: * Commitment to Excellence – Identifies what needs to be done and takes action to achieve a standard of excellence beyond job expectations. * Corporate Values- Understand, embraces, and integrates Doyon corporate values into everyday duties and responsibilities. * Customer Services – Identifies and responds to current and future client needs by providing excellent service to internal and external clients. * Safety and Security – Promotes a safe work environment for co-workers and customers. * Teamwork – Resourceful team player that builds, strengthens, and maintains collaborative relationships with others inside or outside the organization. SUPERVISION: * This position has no supervisory responsibilities. RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Education or technical training in a field related to power generating plants or related electrical equipment through a recognized trade union, technical school or equivalent; accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience * At least two (2) years' experience working with remote North Slope operations/NSTC * Demonstrated knowledge of ANCSA, Doyon, and related issues WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires routine walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting and carrying items weighing fifty pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and work safely from ladders.
