What is a Store Driver? Entry level store position capable of supporting delivery of parts to commercial customers. The role has the responsibility to deliver parts to our commercial customers and assist with task and inventory processes in the store. This position can be part time or full time and must be eligible to drive. Primary Responsibilities * Safely deliver parts to customers as needed * Pick and stage parts for customer orders * Pick up returns and cores * Drop off weekly / monthly sales flyer * Daily collection of credit accounts Secondary Responsibilities * Store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot * General stocking including truck stocking and back stock Success Factors * Basic driving and navigation ability * Ability to use delivery board system * Friendly communication * Ability to locate and stock parts * Safety knowledge and skills * Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Driver * Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management * Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals * Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals * Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed Prior Experience that Sets a Driver up for Success Automotive parts experience is preferred Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid driver's license and be fleet safety certified Physical Demands The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will predominantly be walking or standing. The employee is required to be able to talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually working inside; however, they will occasionally be outside and exposed to various weather conditions while performing such tasks as installing batteries and wiper blades. Job Description A Residential Recycle Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a front-, side-, or rear-loading truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete recycling removal services for customers who reside on a designated route. In addition, a Residential Recycle Truck Driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company's safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports ("VCRs") on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness. * Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner. * Good follow through ability; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise. * Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. * Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals. Preferred Qualifications * Minimum of 2 years of experience driving heavy commercial trucks. * Class A Commercial Driver's License. Principal Responsibilities * Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports. * Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor. * Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load recycling, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility. * Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. * Identify unsatisfactory recycling containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures. * Continuously monitor recycling materials for evidence of unacceptable items. Remove waste that would not be included in recycling materials and hand sort items if necessary. * Clean area around an accidental spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies. * Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. * Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required. * Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner. * Interact courteously with end site personnel and comply with the recycling center's acceptable items guidelines. * Follow all required safety policies and procedures. * Actively participate in the Company's ReSOP program. * Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
