Job Description: At Regions, the Mortgage Loan Originator directs origination of residential mortgage loans from a borrower through a branch network. Primary Responsibilities * Completes mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments * Evaluates loan requests, analyze financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history * Maintains contact with loan customer, communicating progress of loan and obtaining any required documentation * Prepares files for underwriting, loan committee, private mortgage insurance company and investor including preparation of loan approval sheet * Structures loan to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations * Establishes detailed marketing/business plan including names of potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers, etc and frequency of contact * Answers customer calls and walk- in customers to discuss various loan products and qualification information * Makes sales calls on potential or existing customers as established in Regions marketing plan to develop new business or retain existing business * Cross-sells other bank products and services * Reads surveys and appraisals, and takes necessary steps to correct encroachments and violations * May participate in networking through professional, business and community organizations and activities to promote and market loan products * Compensation is Commission based This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime under the non-exempt FLSA classification for hours worked in excess of 40 per week. The work involves patrolling the District on land and water. Incumbents work under the direct supervision of the Reservoir Patrol Command Staff. Positions assigned to this classification are distinguished from those allocated to the classes of Reservoir Patrol Officer I and III primarily by years experience and level of expertise. Examples of Work:Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following: Patrols District Roadways for state safety and Local Ordinance violations; officers issue citations and make arrests dependant on severity of the violation. Conducts Accident Investigations and files state uniform crash reports. Represents the interests of Office and its programs with other institutions, state officials, and the general public. Reviews the work of the various sections, branches, and field offices; coordinates their activities and advises them on matters of policy and administration. Recommends needed regulations, policies, and procedures for proper administration of programs. Maintains liaison with other agencies, divisions, or departments of municipal, county, state, and federal government. Participates in fiscal accounting and budgeting activities. Gives administrative leadership to programs. Maintains effective public relations with other state agencies, the public, and the media including interpretation and advocacy of agency policy. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications:These minimum qualifications have been agreed upon by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in this job class and are based upon a job analysis and the essential functions. Substitution Statement: Above high school diploma or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma), related education and special experience may be substituted on an equal basis, except there shall be no substitution for the three (3) years of line or functional administrative or advanced supervision. Special Experience: Employment must have been in an administrative, professional capacity in an area of work related to the functional responsibility of the bureau in which the position exists. In those bureaus where registered specialists provide the primary source of functional and technical knowledge for planning and accomplishing the mission of the bureau, the incumbent may also be required to be registered and experienced in that profession. Work experience must have included supervising and coordinating a variety of functions.
