Responsibilities: * Review production issues as they occur for a holistic analysis of the impacts and possible causes * Understand, provide insight and possible documentation (or assist those that will document) for the system of the test engine (from IDEAS through reporting) * Interact with Level 2 to understand issues * Interact with Level 3 to understand system design * Participate in issue investigation and determination of appropriate area for resolution * Provide recommendations for future system design enhancements to address issues * Act as liaison between client, Level 2, Level 3 and the Product Support management * Partner with business liaisons and technical teams to understand and define system goals and technical system requirements * Assist technical groups in revising logic for performance efficiency * Participate in system and user acceptance testing efforts * Assist business liaisons and evaluate cost-benefit and ROI * Understand system interdependencies and collaborate with project teams accordingly Basic Requirements: * 4+ years of broad IT experience with demonstrated progression of responsibilities * In-depth understanding of software development methodologies * Demonstrated experience writing software requirement specifications and test specifications * Experience generating reports using SQL * Proven experience in an IT support/system support role with increasing responsibility * Excellent communication (verbal & written) skills with varied audience, including Executive Leadership and DRC clients * Ability to work across many business, technology and application groups * Experience explaining difficult concepts to decision makers to formulate plans * Strong situational analysis and decision making skills * Experience planning and deploying business and technology capabilities * Systems thinking ability (understand how parts interact with the whole) Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements * Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products * Ability to partner with software engineers, quality analysts and business partners to identify course of resolutions * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Excellent project management and prioritization skills * Strong communication skills * BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field Essential Job Requirements: * Must be located in the Montomery, AL area * Report to work promptly when scheduled * Ability to work remotely, but be available for in-state travel * Be able to work under supervision and accept feedback * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite * Relate effectively and work respectfully with diverse work groups * Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased work load * Set and meet deadlines * Manage multiple job functions simultaneously * Other duties as needed Reporting to this position: No direct reports Physical Requirements: * Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hour periods of time * Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day * Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary DRC retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position. W.W. Williams currently has openings for Generator Field Service Technicians in our Montgomery, AL facility. The primary duties of this position are to service and maintain natural gas and diesel AC power generator systems located at our customer's facilities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years previous experience (military experience included) servicing 8.5kW – 3500kW generators. EGSA certification is a plus. At a minimum, applicants will have a working knowledge of electrical systems and circuitry as well as some knowledge of diesel engines. Demonstrated knowledge with: * Engines, both natural gas and/or diesel * Transfer switches both manual and automatic * Solid state, microprocessor, PLC engine and generator controllers * Diesel engine fire pumps and controllers * Load bank testing At a minimum, applicants will have a working knowledge of electrical systems and circuitry as well as some knowledge of diesel engines. * Trainee positions are available for individuals who have a Technical School Diploma or Associates Degree in Electrical Generation Systems, Diesel Engine Technology or related field are encouraged to apply. Non-traditional and /or informal experience with diesel engines, generators and/or related field will be considered as well. Candidates must have own tools, be able to lift up to 100lbs, be available for overtime and weekend work as needed. * Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear record. Company vehicle is provided. Job Summary: Major Responsibilities: * Service, repair, modify, diagnosis and rebuild standby power generators and fire pump drivers * Perform failure analysis, emergency field service and/or repairs for customers * Service a variety of other brands of power generation equipment * Operate, drive and maintain company service truck and parts inventory on truck * Check/repair all supporting systems such as fuel, cooling and electrical systems * Operation of load banks and recording of instrumentation * Furnish current required tools * Clean, check, recondition and determine the reusability of used parts * Keep current concerning product changes, specifications and updates * Compile all repair, maintenance and estimates for the above listed duties Key Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: * Accountability * Problem solving * Communication skills * Reporting skills * Customer contact * Technical functional knowledge * Decision making * Time management * Detail oriented * Industry product knowledge * Written communication skills * Initiative * Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Smart phone, email, PLC) Minimum Education/Experience Required: High School diploma; Generator, electrical, and diesel engine technical training and/or three years in related field.
