Job Description The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term role that prepares an employee to perform a higher-level supervisory role, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Characteristics of Work Benefits Supplemental Questions This is entry-level work involving the supervision of semi-skilled craftsmen performing general maintenance and repair activities at a state operated institution or government complex. Duties include directing crews assigned to the construction and repair of state buildings or equipment, formulating initial cost estimates for projected labor and material used in project completion, and inspecting work upon completion to ensure compliance with work order stipulation. Supervision is received from a Facilities Maintenance Manager or administrative superior and is exercised over lower-level subordinate personnel. Examples of Work:Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitors the renovation, repair, installation, and construction of state operated buildings and equipment to ensure efficient and effective utilization. Directs assigned crews in work order completion to verify quality control procedural compliance. Examines diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specification prior to replacement or repair of defective equipment. Operates and utilizes tools such as table saws, skill saws, pipe threaders, voltage testers, and wrenches in accordance with specifications of tasks to be performed. Supervises and participates in the dismantling of machinery and equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts. Oversees the painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repair of buildings under state proprietorship. Presents recommendations on estimates of material and labor costs required for project completion to supervisor. Trains skilled workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with applicable policies and procedures. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications:These minimum qualifications have been agreed upon by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in this job class and are based upon a job analysis and the essential functions. JOB SUMMARY The SpectrumDirect Sales Supervisor will support and assist the Spectrum Direct Sales Manager by managing the day to day activities of the Spectrum Direct Sales Department. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience * Responsible for meeting and exceeding budgeted sales goals * Supervise a team of Direct Sales staff and service partner personnel. Direct reports may include Sales Representatives as well as service partners. Position Summary The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage at all times. The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor has responsibility for both customer facing activities (e.g., greeting customer, clarifying needs and identifying solutions, closing sales) and non-facing activities (e.g., downstocking, inventory management, area recovery). The individual in this role ensures his/her area of the store is in-stock and customer ready at all times while inspiring engaging, customer-focused behavior and driving his/her team to achieve sales and margin goals. The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor must keep management informed, delegate and follow-up on daily tasks, and maintain a clean, safe and secure work environment. In addition to supervising associates in his/her own area, the Sales Floor Dept Supervisor must lead associates in other departments, as needed, to meet the demands of the store. This requires broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments.
