We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist that is detail oriented and able to work independently in a high-volume environment. The Payroll Specialist will also have a strong working knowledge of payroll laws and processes, familiarity with processing special pay items like commissions and bonuses, etc. and have a strong foundation in Ultipro. Under general supervision of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist provides support to managers, districts, subsidiaries, and employees for all payroll needs. The PR Specialist must analyze reports for accuracy and maintain payroll files to fulfill all agency requirements. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to provide instructions and communicate pre-established practices and procedures. This position requires routine one-on-one interaction with employees, supervisors and management and must have the ability to demonstrate a demeanor of professionalism in face to face employee interactions. **Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:** + Ability to perform all payroll processing and balancing tasks. + Answer employee and management questions about the Time Management system and support affiliates when questions and issues arise. + Communicate and provide assistance to managers, Human Resources and employees to resolve payroll issues and inquiries. + Balance time and attendance imports from Ultimate Time Management into Ultipro. + Audit data imported from time and attendance into Ultipro for accuracy + Research and analyze bank items and other inquiries from accounting + Analyze, research, and provide reports to various agencies, departments and managers weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. + Research and calculate manual checks, retro and over payments. + Analyze and setup court orders; garnishments, child supports and tax levies. Determine the proper method of deduction and where payments should be issued. Work closely with the court or attorney to ensure compliance. + Analyze and confirm bank files for accuracy and submit to banking institution. + Analyze, confirm, and submit print files for accurate check production. + General ledger production for various accounting departments. + Audit, balance, and analyze employee/employer H S A to insure we balance with Mellon Bank’s tax forms. + Responsible for updates to the W2 in an accurate and timely manner. + Maintain written departmental procedures along with check lists. + Manage company car program as it relates to payroll. + Responsible for auditing entries prior to payroll production. **Requirements** **Credentials and Experience:** + Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in Payroll, Accounting or related field.
