We are looking for people with a strong sense of purpose and focus to continually build confidence in yourself and our organization. **Program Overview** This position is responsible for providing Multisystemic Therapy (MST) to youth ages 12 to 17 that display serious antisocial behaviors and are at-risk of placement out of the home due to their behaviors. Our MST program is built on the principle that the serious behavior problems of a child typically stem from a combination of influences including family factors, deviant peer group, problems in school or the community, and individual characteristics. The MST model calls for simultaneously addressing all of those inter-related areas. **Position Overview** Carries a caseload of 4-5 families. Intensive treatment requires counselor to meet with each family at least three times per week. Develops individualized treatment plans for each case. Ongoing assessments and reviews of treatment progress are performed on a regular basis Documents all sessions within a pre-established cycle time. Documentation is web-based and most locations provide voice-recognition technology. Maintains on-call availability to clients during the week. Counselors rotate on-call availability on weekends, requiring approximately one on-call weekend per month. Drive up to 60-80 miles to meet with families in the home Counselors provide treatment in individual families' homes in a wide array of settings and communities Works closely with multiple types of clinical supervision provided in individual and group settings led by trained and licensed MST professionals. Review of progress generally occurs at frequent intervals. Develops strong community relationships and resources with which to provide families as part of treatment. **Additional Information**Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes, and auto insurance. Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage. **Requirements**A Master’s degree in a social services discipline is preferred. Bachelor's degree with significant clinical experience may be considered. Degrees that can be considered include: social work, drug and alcohol education or counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will have to be evaluated further to determine if they meet the qualifications. GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES- Reviews alpha census daily and visits in-house patients; collects estimated patient liable amounts; works closely with outside agencies to ensure patient coverage. SUPERVISOR- Patient Access Manager (or Supervisor) SUPERVISES- N/A DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Visit all self-paying patients in-house • Provide estimates to patients and/or physicians as requested • Generate insurance verification and precertification reports daily and follow up with case management and insurance verification departments as appropriate • Post ER and Patient Access deposits into PA system • Contact insurance companies for patient benefits and precertification requirements • Review alpha census daily for visits exceeding the original length of precertification and work closely with utilization review for concurrent certification • Assist patients with payment arrangements and charity applications • Work closely with outside agencies in helping patients apply for Medicaid and state aid • Maintain insurance files regarding updates and changes • Forward problems or concerns to Patient Access Manager • Enter pertinent insurance information into CPCS and prorate account • Enter notes into the collections system for all patient encounters • Maintain professional image and implement excellent customer service to customers • Complete financial analysis and collect estimated patient liabilities • Follow up with patients for necessary signatures if they were incomplete at time of hospitalization • Consistently receive and receipt payments from patients for hospital services in accordance with internal cash control procedures • Interact with Patient Account Services Insurance Verification Department in establishing up-front payment arrangements with patients • Attends in-service presentations, and completes mandatory education week, including but not limited to, infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS and OSHA standards. • Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient safety issues. • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” • Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing • Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations • Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties • PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in PC applications as required • Policies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems • Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED: This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age for the patients served in his/her assigned service area. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience. Age Groups:Birth - 1 year (infant), 1 - 11 years (pediatric), 12 - 16 years (preschooler), 17 - 64 years (adult), 65 – Life Span (geriatric) EDUCATION • High school diploma or GED required EXPERIENCE • At least one year of collections experience required • Relevant education may substitute experience requirement CERTIFICATE/LICENSE- N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
