How you will contribute Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Crane Operator position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to lift and move material, machines, or products through the fabrication process of Valmont products. Additionally, you will… Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities in order to prevent overload Move levers and turn dials to operate cranes for lifting, moving, and placing loads Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms and lifting accessories in order to prevent malfunctions and damage Review daily work and delivery schedules to determine orders, sequences of deliveries, and special loading instructions Demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policy and procedures What it takes Required Qualifications The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions The ability to lift up to 50 pounds The ability to stand and walk up to 90% of the shift The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment Highly qualified candidates will also possess: High School diploma or GED equivalent One year of previous experience with overhead crane operations One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions Must have a high awareness for safety at all times Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results #UT (Utility) Valmont does not discriminate against any employee or applicant in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, genetic information, veteran status, disability or any other characteristic protected by law. Job Summary: The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for assisting in purchasing operations, specifically with a primary responsibility for sourcing manufactured goods. The individual in this role will be tasked with improving existing procurement processes and improving relations with existing suppliers while finding new suppliers who can meet our needs more efficiently. Minimum Requirements: A successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement or Supply Chain Management or other relevant field or equivalent experience in the procurement or supply chain fields. Minimum three (3) years procurement in domestic and international sourcing experience in manufacturing, heavy industrial or retail industries. International travel (10-14 days in length) up to two times per year. Strong negotiating and influencing skills. Experience in RFQs, contracts and supplier relationship management. Technical experience with strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to understand technical specifications and drawings. Exposure to manufacturing operations and processes (e.g. fabrication, machining, casting etc.). Strong understanding of legal, financial and commercial terms. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with and influence all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders. Highly motivated and results focused. Strong customer service focus. Enjoys working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment. MRP experience preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: * Maximize supplier performance and contribute to the development of a competent and reliable vendor base to meet Lodge's business objectives, achieve cost savings targets, strong delivery performance and high quality products and services. * Manage critical suppliers to assess capabilities, operating performance and improvement initiatives. * Lead the selection, qualification and development of new suppliers in conjunction with internal stakeholders. * Negotiate, develop and implement supply agreements and contracts. * Lead supplier negotiations to improve commercial terms, supply chain performance, and to lower total costs and mitigate risks. * Ongoing development of the savings opportunity pipeline to support the achievement of savings targets. * Work with internal departments to fully understand their requirements, to form strong stakeholder relationships, and to provide strategic procurement support. * Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement strategic sourcing initiatives. * Any and all other duties as assigned.
