Manufacturing Engineer Job Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Primary ownership for maintaining and managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufactured product</li> <li>Responsibility for transitioning new designs into the Bill of Material (both Mechanical and Electrical)</li> <li>Driving the overall Release Process for new parts and assemblies to insure accurate exchange of information between systems (Creo, OrCad, Windchill, Macola, etc) and functions/processes (fabrication, assembly, purchasing, engineering, and service)</li> <li>Work w/ the ibml IT Department for maintenance and support of any SW Tools needed for the BOM/Release and Manufacturing processes</li> <li>Technical liaison between Operations & Engineering</li> <li>Drive appropriate Manufacturing Processes to enable Operations to deliver quality product in a cost-effective manner</li> <li>Work with vendors/suppliers to maintain and improve their quality</li> <li>Drive appropriate tools and processes for subsystem and end-of-line testing in manufacturing to insure quality output</li> <li>Continuously monitor manufacturing output (quality, cycle-time, costs, productivity, etc.) and drive any required corrective action or process improvement</li> <li>Drive changes and/or development of new manufacturing processes in support of new product development</li> <li>Identify and communicate any product issues discovered in manufacturing and work with the HW/Systems Current Product Engineering Leader to drive corrective action</li> <li>Participate in Peer/Design Reviews to optimize manufacturability of any design changes or new components/assemblies (working w/ Current Product Engineering Leader, Mechanical Engineering Leader, and Electrical/Systems Engineering Leader)</li> </ul>   Desired Skills & Experience: Required: <ul> <li>BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering/Manufacturing field</li> <li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written</li> <li>Excellent planning and organization skills</li> <li>Hardware manufacturing experience in a low-volume high-mix environment</li> <li>Experience with industry tools and processes for managing the BOM and Release process</li> <li>Ability to manage and prioritize demands from multiple sources (operations, current product engineering, new product development, service, etc.)</li> <li>Experience w/ fabrication and sourcing of mechanical and electrical components</li> <li>Familiarity with Mechanical and Electrical development process and tools</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment</li> <li>Ongoing drive for continuous improvement</li> </ul>   Preferred: <ul> <li>Experience with electro-mechanical equipment such as scanners or printers</li> <li>Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification</li> <li>Experience w/ Macola, Windchill, Creo, and OrCad tools/systems</li> <li>Program Management skills</li> <li>System level analysis capabilities, including root-cause analysis</li> <li>Training and experience in Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing</li> <li>Experience setting up and running Kaizens</li> </ul>

What you'll be doing... * Proactively monitor voice and data services and improve regional network element performance by resolving and improving mean time to resolution on issues that impact Verizon Wireless network services. * Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on regional switch & data network elements; including Virtual applications, LTE, 5G, VoLTE, EBH, and COIN networks. * Ensure networks operate at peak performance, exceed Verizon Wireless (VZW) performance KPIs, and comply with all Maintenance Engineering configuration guidelines and directives. * Upgrade, integrate, and perform preventive maintenance on multiple vendor systems by utilizing knowledge of Linux, Unix, Openstack, Junos, and Cisco IOS. * Responsible for running standardized testing and reporting from the many networking tools used to baseline network element performance. The referenced tools include RTT (LTE, EBH), ELPT, SevONE, Brix, Netscout, and Irisview. * Proactively engage in troubleshooting and restoration efforts for all regional virtual applications and LTE network elements. * Responsible for reviewing nightly change controls and ensure that work conducted by sub-market Field and System Engineers are completed in a way that is not adversely affecting network services and complies with the documented written Mops. * Manage all Ethernet technologies and backhaul vendors to obtain root cause analysis for all outages, immediately obtain/create and distribute preventive procedures to avoid reoccurring outages, and works with stakeholders to drive the vendors to deliver the final resolutions/fixes required to prevent future outages. * Monitor and maintain -48VDC power plants, generators, HVAC and building automation systems. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Three or more years of relevant work experience. * Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, network segmentation (VLAN), MPLS, and virtual routing instances. Even better if you have: * A degree. * Four or more years of experience in same or related discipline. * Cisco CCNA, Linux and Red Hat certifications. * A proactive work style with the ability to set priorities, work independently and with a diverse group of professionals. * Proven initiative to independently identify issues, come up with timely, creative solutions, and own issues through resolution. * Thorough knowledge of the Verizon Wireless voice and data testing platforms and testing methodologies. * Fundamental knowledge of data networking platforms including switching and routing technologies including BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VLAN's.
